USDA Announces Grants for Forestry and Wood Sector Development

The department is accepting project proposals strengthening links between stages of production.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has opened applications for $50 million in grants dedicated to strengthening America’s wood product sector. The department is looking for projects that specifically address the links between the wood product process, advancing the yield of U.S. forests, balancing forests’ environmental needs, expanding wood processing capacity, and creating new markets for wood products.

“A strong forest products economy contributes to healthier forests, vibrant communities, and jobs in rural areas,” said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. “Thanks to President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, we are investing in rural economies by growing markets for forest products through sustainable forest management while reducing wildfire risk, fighting climate change, and accelerating economic development.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Vilsack as he promotes the wood product sector.
  • For USDA officials as they review and select applications for grants in the forestry and wood production process.
